Our tasks
The Swedish Coast Guard supervises, rescues and provides assistance at sea, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, along the entire Swedish coastline. Its duties are exercised within a range of legal areas, and are divided into marine surveillance, environmental response services and commissioned activities.
The activities are concentrated on:

surveillance and control aimed at increasing safety, protecting the environment and restricting crime at sea

border and goods control at sea

controlling fishery at sea

participation in international co-operation aimed at developing border control, combating crime and providing environmental protection
-
rescue services at sea
The activities are carried out from ships, aircraft, hovercraft, smaller boats and from on land.
