Project Operational costs FRONTEX

The Swedish Coast Guard has participated in FRONTEX operations since 2009, with aircraft and ships. The participation has been formalized by Regulation EU 2019/1896 on the development of the European Border and Coast Guard (EBCG) function.

The overall objective of the project is “an established staffing structure to support participation in FRONTEX operations that implements the expectations set out in the EBCG Regulation (2019-1896) to reinforce and improve the surveillance of the external border”. The outcome of the project will lead to a more efficient and structured participation.
