Project Operational support NCC/EUROSURE
The Swedish Coast Guard has since several years back had one of their officials placed at the National Coordination Centre as a part of the EUROSUR II project. EUROSUR was previously the EU framework concerning the surveillance of the outer borders, and the focus was on information exchange within organized crime and illegal migration. EUROSUR is today part of the EBCG, established through the EU-directive 1896/2019.
NCC is the national coordination centre at the Swedish police. NCC is responsible for coordinating and sharing information and situational pictures connected to border control. At NCC the relevant authorities within border control have representatives that share and contribute to the national situational picture. NCC compiles the picture, and passes it on to the EU bureaus that then compile a European situational picture, which is shared with all contributing member states.
The Swedish Coast Guard receives the situational picture and shares the information with the Coast Guard unit responsible for FRONTEX operations, and the management group.
The Coast Guard contributes to the work at NCC with information from the maritime surveillance system Sjöbasis. This information is merged into the national situational picture, and also used for risk analysis.
The project the Swedish Coast Guard is applying for is the person doing the day to day work at NCC, and a colleague at the Swedish Coast guard that comiles information for the person placed at NCC, and also recieves and analyses information from the Coast Guard official att NCC. The project is connected to the project owned by the Swedish police concerning NCC.
