Clarification on pre-arrival notification for maritime security
All vessels that are classed for international traffic (with an ISSC, International Ship Security Certificate) and that call at a Swedish port must submit a pre-arrival notification for maritime security before the port call.

The same rules apply as before, but with a clarification: the requirement for pre-arrival notification applies from 1 October 2026, whether the vessel departs from a foreign port and calls at a Swedish port, or departs from a Swedish port and calls at another Swedish port.
The vessel only needs to submit one pre-arrival notification to a port facility in the port, unless the same vessel calls at several port facilities with different security levels. If the vessel calls at a port facility and then moves to an anchorage, a new pre-arrival notification must be submitted if the vessel calls at the port facility again.
The Swedish Coast Guard monitors vessels' security information before arrival and takes action when needed, based on the information received.
