On Friday 15 May, prosecutors opened a new preliminary investigation and a new crew member on board the vessel Sea Owl I was arrested. The person is suspected of using a forged document, aggravated offence.
On 12 March, the Swedish Coast Guard boarded the vessel on suspicion that it was sailing under a false flag in Swedish territorial waters. The crew member who was then remanded in custody was later released from custody. A new master took over responsibility for the vessel, and vessel documents for a new flag state were sent to the Swedish Transport Agency. These documents are also suspected of being forged. A second crew member has now been arrested, and a new preliminary investigation is under way. In it, the Coast Guard, under the direction of a prosecutor, has taken investigative measures on board the vessel. The regional response force in Police Region South assisted the Coast Guard in the operation.
The Coast Guard currently has no further information about the operation and the investigation. \u00A0\u00A0
