Benefits

This gives you secure and predictable conditions throughout your working life.
The Coast Guard's trainee programme is paid, which means you receive a salary during your training.
While you study the basic training, you are classed as a Coastguard Trainee and earn SEK 27,931 per month. After graduation, if you have completed the training with a pass, you are offered a permanent position as a Coastguardsman. You then earn at least SEK 32,023 per month in individual pay (review in autumn 2024).
The Coast Guard offers ongoing opportunities for training and development to strengthen both your professional skills and your future career opportunities.
As a government employee, you are covered by an occupational pension administered by the Swedish National Government Employee Pensions Board.
As an employee, you are covered by insurance that gives protection during business travel, service abroad, occupational injuries and occupational illnesses. It also provides financial support to surviving relatives in the event of death.
When you travel on business, you are entitled to a per diem allowance and other compensation under government agreements. You may also be entitled to travel time compensation, a sea service allowance and compensation for journeys home during longer periods of service, according to the applicable agreements.
If you have a permanent position, you can receive a wellness allowance of up to SEK 3,300 per calendar year. In addition, all employees have the opportunity to do wellness activities during working hours when operations allow it.
