Sjöbasis - system for maritime surveillance
Sjöbasis is a joint agency system for maritime surveillance. Its task is to present a combined civil maritime situational picture with related maritime information, focusing on Sweden's territorial sea and economic zone. Data is stored for five years.

On behalf of the Government, the Swedish Coast Guard has developed the system to enable information exchange within existing agency structures and areas of responsibility. This avoids costly duplication of work when different agency systems collect and process information. Sjöbasis also makes the information and intelligence work within maritime surveillance more efficient.
Sjöbasis does the following:
- It collects maritime situational information from systems within the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Maritime Administration, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management and the Coast Guard.
- It compiles information and offers different services to users at the participating agencies. For example, a maritime situational picture where you can filter by vessel type and choose different map views, vessel information, layers, target tracks and more.
