Control of recreational fishing
The Swedish Coast Guard monitors and controls recreational fishing at sea along the whole Swedish coast, in Lake Vänern and in Lake Mälaren. The focus is on protected species, protected areas and catch limits.

Among other things, we check trolling for salmon, pike fishing on the east coast, lobster fishing and sea trout fishing on the west coast.
The purpose of the controls is to help keep fish stocks sustainable in the long term, for future generations as well.
You who fish have your own responsibility
Everyone who fishes is responsible for knowing which fishing rules apply where they fish. You can read the rules for the place where you want to fish on the Svenska Fiskeregler website or on the website of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management.
