Hunting control
The Swedish Coast Guard supervises hunting at sea, mainly seabird hunting and seal hunting. Its control includes hunting licences and firearms licences when people hunt from a boat.

The Swedish Coast Guard carries out supervision under the Hunting Ordinance. Hunting control mainly covers seabird hunting and seal hunting. The Coast Guard has the authority to check hunting licences and firearms licences if the hunting is done from a boat. Hunters on land next to the Coast Guard's geographical area of operation are different. In their case, the Coast Guard's powers are limited to checking that the hunter has a hunting licence.
Hunting from boats has increased in recent years. This is because county administrative boards along the Swedish coasts have issued more decisions on protective hunting of cormorants and seals.
