High-speed training in the Stockholm archipelago
In late April and early May, the Swedish Coast Guard is carrying out practical high-speed training in the Stockholm archipelago. This is part of the basic training for the agency's trainee officers. It focuses on developing the ability to manoeuvre and navigate the Coast Guard's high-speed boats in varying conditions.

The high-speed training is based in Vaxholm and takes place during weeks 17-20, in the daytime and in the evening. We therefore want to inform the public that you may notice our presence in the Stockholm archipelago during these weeks, and that this is training activity.
Why we train in manoeuvring and navigating at high speeds
The aim is to give future coast guard officers the skills they need to act quickly, safely and with good judgement when it really matters. The ability to navigate at high speed can be decisive in a coast guard officer's work during urgent rescue operations, patient transports or when another authority needs support in emergency situations.
