The investigation into the vessel Caffa is moving forward. Findings made have led to a member of the crew being arrested and taken ashore, suspected of a serious offence. A prosecutor has taken over the preliminary investigation.
The Ukrainian coast guard works tirelessly, with strong assistance from the Swedish Coast Guard. At the end of February, a delegation including the Coast Guard's Director-General Lena Lindgren Schelin visited Ukraine.
Over the past year, the joint agency initiative against organised crime has continued to move towards a broader, more crime-prevention focus, with an emphasis on the criminal economy. According to unconfirmed information, which the police are now investigating with support from the Coast Guard, the leisure boat and the vessel are said to have collided.
